Bu yıl 25. yaşını kutlayan Galeri İlayda, 26 Mayıs – 23 Haziran 2017 tarihleri arasında, Damla Özdemir’in “Free Speech Zone” isimli solo sergisine ev sahipliği yapıyor.

“Free Speech Zone” genç kuşak sanatçılar içinde, stop motion animasyon ve dijital sanat tekniklerinden beslenerek kendi üslübunda harmanladığı kolaj üretimiyle ön plana çıkan Özdemir’in yeni projesi.

Son dönem eserlerinden bir seçki ile şekillenen sergide Özdemir, söz söyleyebilmenin varoluşsal olanaklarına odaklanıyor. Sanatçı yaşantı ve deneyimlerinden hikayelerle kurguladığı eserlerin de, günümüzde birey olarak aidiyet ve özgürlük arasındaki bağlara -veya zıtlıklara- dair sorgulamalarını yansıtıyor. Kimlik, cinsiyet, kültürel kodlar, savaş, uygarlık sorunları bu sorgulamalardan bazıları.

“Free Speech Zone” isimli solo sergi, 23 Haziran’a kadar Galeri İlayda’da görülebilir.
